The Olakira Camp- in a class of its own, is a mobile safari camp that moves between the southern and central Serengeti in attempting to keep up close with the migrating herds. The Sayari camp covers the northern part where the migrating herds wander from mid July to December.
The camp is located around the Ndutu area from mid December to March. This is usually the calving season of the wildebeest within the south Serengeti after the gruelling migration trek from the Mara. The camp then moves northwards following the herds and staying in the central Serengeti area for the rest of the season. The migrating patterns of the wildebeest are not fixed and therefore do change from time to time, thus this patterns do dictate the movements of Olakira Camp in keeping to the basic ideas, “Be as close to the action as possible”
